Lalitpur metropolis drives heritage reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts

LALITPUR, June 30: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City is actively engaged in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of temples and shrines, the traditional stone spouts and other heritages damaged by earthquakes.

LALITPUR, June 30: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City is actively engaged in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of temples and shrines, the traditional stone spouts and other heritages damaged by earthquakes. Works have been started for the repair and maintenance as well as rehabilitation of the heritages damaged in the 2015 earthquake and awaiting reconstruction, according to  Santosh Khadka, ward 4 chairman, Lalitpur Metropolitan City. 


Similarly, Ward 21 Chairman Rajendra Maharjan said that there are about 15 historical heritages in Ward 21 and that the ward office is at work for the conservation and rehabilitation of the damaged heritages.

It is said that 400 ponds within the metropolis are also in the process of repair and maintenance. 


Prof Ram Kumar Panta, who has carried out extensive research on the heritages of Lalitpur, said that many heritages of archaeological importance damaged by the earthquake have been reconstructed.
