INARUWA, Aug 21: The Sunsari-based Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve has provided compensation to the victim and affected families.

Reserve's Chief Conservation Officer Shyam Kumar Saha informed that compensation amounting to Rs 11.41 million was handed over to the families reeling under wild animal terror in the fiscal year 2074/75 BS. 


Five families who lost their members on animal attacks were provided with Rs 1 million each amounting total Rs 5 million while injured 18 were given a total of Rs 1.34 million. Likewise, Rs 1.96 million was distributed to 194 families whose houses, sheds and food grains were damaged due to animal rampage. Rs 3.1 million was distributed to 461 families whose crops were destroyed, he informed.  RSS
