Koirala vows to expand trade with Pakistan

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has vowed to take appropriate measures to expand bilateral trade with Pakistan.



Inaugurating the Made in Pakistan Exhibition in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Koirala said bilateral trade fairs like this will help enhance trade relation between the two countries. "We need to review trade agreements signed with Pakistan and explore new avenues in bilateral trade," he added. "It will be possible only if the government and the private sector work hand in hand."[break]



The fourth edition of Made in Pakistan Exhibition, which is being held at United World Trade Center, Tripureshwar, is being organized by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu.



The seven-day long expo features 45 stalls showcasing Pakistani products like wooden furniture, textile products, garments, leather jackets, footwear, artificial jewelries and handicrafts among others.



According to the organizers, as many as 75 entrepreneurs from Pakistan are participating in the event. The organizers are expecting more than 70,000 visitors.
