President Koirala met Deuba at the latter´s residence in Budhanilakantha (first time after his election as the party´s president) Saturday morning to hold discussion about preparations to call the party´s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday.[break]
According to a leader close to Deuba, President Koirala told Deuba that he had come for seeking his ´support´. "I have come to seek your support," the leader quoted Koirala as telling Deuba. "You need to support me."
During the meeting, Deuba had inquired about Koirala´s preparation to make nominations for the posts of party´s vice president, general secretary and joint general secretary. Deuba asked Koirala if the news about his plans to nominate Ram Chandra Paudel as vice president and Krishna Sitaula as general secretary was true. "Though Koirala made no comment, he hinted that he had already made up his mind on the nomination," said the leader close to Deuba.
Meanwhile, Deuba has called a meeting of the party´s newly-elected Central Working Committee (CWC) members close to him at 3 pm Saturday. Altogether, 29 of the total 64 members including president, general secretary and treasurer were directly elected by the party´s 12th general convention.
There will be a total 85 members in the party´s CWC. President Koirala is yet to nominate 21 CWC members to give full shape to the CWC.
