KATHMANDU, May 14: Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala has continued consultation with various political parties to garner support to the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) to form a new government.

Koirala met with leaders of CPN-UML, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) and Sadbhawana Party (SP) at his residence Thursday afternoon. All the four parties concluded that they must jointly hold talks with Madhesi People’s Rights Forum leaders who are still undecided.

“Upendra Yadav (chairman of MPRF) has said Forum leaders will join the meeting only in the evening due to their busy schedule in the party’s internal meeting,” said NC leader.

Following resignation from Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the NC, second largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), proposed CPN-UML to lead the new government.

TMDP and SP have decided to join the NC-UML alliance.
