KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) in coordination with Korea Engineering Consultants Corporation (KECC) has distributed relief materials to the recent flood victims of Nawalparasi, Koica said in a statement Monday.

Koica said it supported flood-affected locals at Sarawal, Palhinandan, Pratapur and Susta of the district. “All flood victim households in the area were supported with goods worth about US$ 20,000,” read the statement. Relief materials distributed in the areas included materials for emergency evacuation and hygiene.
It said a total of 700 tarpaulins, 2600 mosquito nets, 550 canisters of mosquito spray, 1900 tubes of antiseptic, 800 kg of beaten rice, 960 packets of biscuits, 144 packets of food for children under 2 years of age, 100 kg of sugar, 2250 packets of noodles, 625 kg of rice, 270 kg of pulse, 100 litres of oil, 400 kg of potatoes and salt were distributed in the flood-affected areas in the district.
