KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Kathmandu Metropolitan City's plan to build public toilets in the Kathmandu Valley is in limbo for two years.

The KMC was then directed to construct toilets in various 41 places within the Valley owing to the acute need. The city is struggling with lack of adequate number of public toilets. What's more is those already into existence are hardly usable for want of cleanliness.

When asked, KMC's Spokesperson Ishwor Man Dangol said the project would start only after the KMC completes the ongoing process to identify proper places. Earlier, some 10 months ago, the KMC Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya had directed all wards to identify proper places to construct public toilets. The KMC will create a project design only after the wards recommend places for the project, he said. RSS
