KMC plans to build municipal hospital

KATHMANDU, July 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled a plan of establishing a municipal hospital targeting the people of the area. As the Metropolis said, its objective is to provide several sorts of health facilities to the town people at minimum charges.

KATHMANDU, July 23: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled a plan of establishing a municipal hospital targeting the people of the area. As the Metropolis said, its objective is to provide several sorts of health facilities to the town people at minimum charges.


Earlier, the town denizens were demanding the establishment of such facility in return of tax they paid to the KMC.

The KMC in its policies and programs for the current fiscal year announced to build a metropolitan health facility. The number of beds and the location for the new facility would be determined soon, KMC spokesperson Ishworman Dangol said. "It will be built on the appropriate location for all".


The KMC is made up of 32 wards. The municipal health clinics operated by the KMC are based in various wards from where the town people are receiving the service. It has planned to establish the senior citizens' health facility as well in the current fiscal year and has allocated Rs 162 million under the Public Health Service Program.
