KMC Mayor Shah announces to construct full-length statue of late former mayor Singh

Mayor Shah announced plans to erect a statue of the late PL Singh, recognizing his significant role in making Kathmandu Nepal’s first metropolitan city. The statue will honor Singh’s invaluable contributions to the KMC’s development.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah has announced plans to install a full-length statue of KMC’s first mayor, Prem Lal (PL) Singh. He made the announcement during the 16th session of the Municipal Council on Sunday. The statue will be placed on the premises of the National Assembly to honor the late mayor’s legacy and contributions.

Late former mayor PL Singh, who played a key role in Nepal's local self-governance and autonomy, passed away on December 16. He established the rights of the 753 local governments.
