KMC forms a Task Force led by Mayor Shah to ensure effective waste management

KATHMANDU, May 30: A task force has been formed under the coordination of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah to study the problem of waste management of the capital city.

KATHMANDU, May 30: A task force has been formed under the coordination of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah to study the problem of waste management of the capital city. 


The first executive meeting of KMC held today under the chairmanship of the newly-elected Mayor Shah decided to form a five-member study task force that includes Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol.

The meeting also took a decision to collaborate with hotels, restaurants and petrol pumps to make necessary arrangements of toilets for the ordinary public when they are away from their homes. The KMC will put up signs in the restaurants and petrol pumps that will avail their toilet for public use free of cost. 


Similarly, the meeting has decided to operate 'infrastructure ambulances' to fill potholes on the roads. The meeting also decided to set up a call center at the KMC to address grievances of the city dwellers on a real time basis. 


The executive meeting of KMC is scheduled to convene again on Tuesday. (RSS)
