KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The Kirat community celebrated Udhauli festival as a tribute to their ancestors and in honor of nature on the full moon day of Mangshir (mid-November to mid-December) on Sunday.
The Udhauli festival was also observed with fanfare in Kathmandu. On Sunday, young Kirati men and women adorned their traditional dresses and engaged in the Sakewa Sili dance in Gokarneswar, Kathmandu.

The Kirat community celebrates the Udhauli festival as a day to offer the harvested crops to their deities, seek permission for food, and remember their ancestors. Meanwhile, the Kirat community observes the Ubhauli festival during the time of sowing crops.
