KHOTANG, Nov 17: Seven orphans of Khotang Halesi, Tuwachung Municipality-8, received financial support from a good samaritan on Friday.
Touched by a news report about the orphans published in Nagarik daily earlier this week, President of JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN), Ram Chandra Bhusal, provided Rs 50,000 to the children.

Their father Chandra Kirant was electrocuted four months ago while their mother Talkumari Rai died during the abortion of an unwanted pregnancy, allegedly due to mistakes by health workers in the village, two months ago.
Bhusal said he wanted to support them in their daily needs and studies after he read the news titled “Guardian of six siblings at the age of 16”.
Member of Parliament, Bishal Bhattarai, handed over the amount, which was sent through Nepal Republic Media, to 16-year-old Bungatung Chamling, the eldest among the seven siblings, amid a function held at the District Coordination Committee, Khotang on Friday. The age of the seven children varies from four to 16 year.
Earlier, Nepalis living in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia and local representatives and officials provided financial support to the children. Ward chairman of Dhitung, Prithiraj Rai said the campaign to garner financial support for the children is still going on.
