KHOTANG, Jan 7:As many as 167 contestants have been selected on the first round of auditions of the singing reality show — Khotang Idol. The audition was organized on 11 different places of Khotang district.

Coordinator of the event, Jeevan Kumar Rai, said the show aimed at promoting the hidden talent of different people from the rural areas who do not have access to opportunities. We have noticed an active participation of the locals in this show, added Rai. “We are planning to eliminate 100 contestants in the second round of auditions to be held on January 12 and 13 in Diktel,” he said.
Title winner of the contest will receive a cash prize of Rs 54,574, a chance to learn music for six months and a chance to record one song. Similarly, the first runner up will get Rs 24,574, chance to learn music for three months and chance to record one song and the second runner up will receive Rs 10,574, a chance to learn music for three months, and a chance to record one song. Best vocal of the competition will also get Rs 2,574 along with a certificate of appreciation.
