Political discussions and arguments may result in serious disputes and clashes under the influence of alcohol. Such activities will greatly affect the polls and the security of voters. Considering this, the DEO has been banning liquor ahead of each election so that the elections can be held in a peaceful and systematic manner.
"We have told the shopkeepers not to sell alcohol after 7 pm as we want to create a favorable environment for the elections," said CDO Adhikari.
Security forces consider the places where political parties organize lavish feasts for the voters as highly sensitive areas.
"We have mobilized our security personnel to the places where such gatherings and feasts are very common," added the CDO.
