Nepal had reached the quarterfinals by finishing runners-up in the group. In Group 'A', Nepal had six points from four matches.

Nepal lost to India 41-37 in their group stage match but got the better of Brazil 134-8, Peru 80-34, and Bhutan 98-8.

After that, India reached a strong position with 40 points in the third turn. In the last turn, Nepal scored only 16 points while India added 5 points to the dream run.
Nepal defeated Uganda 89-18 on Saturday to enter the last two. Nepal defeated Iran 103-8 on Friday to reach the semifinals.
The Nepali team went ahead unbeaten in the group stage and emerged the winner of Group C.
