SANKHUWASABHA, Jan 25: The Khandbari-Kimathanka Road, a National Pride Project, will achieve a breakthrough on Monday, January 27. Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka announced this on Friday during the inauguration of the diamond jubilee of Himalaya Secondary School. The breakthrough will connect the Khandbari-Kimathanka Road.
Minister Khadka said that workers completed 10.5 kilometers of the Champtang-Ghong Hoppa section of the road, which is a part of the Koshi Highway. He added that the Nepal Army has successfully blasted through rocky cliffs in the area. The breakthrough will allow for upgrading and widening the road.

The Nepal Army has already constructed a double-lane, 10.5-kilometer section of the road. Workers have completed the 134-kilometer stretch from the district headquarters in Khandbari to Champtang. Additionally, they opened a 14-kilometer dirt track from Kimathanka to Ghong Hoppa. The North-South Koshi Road Project confirmed that the total length of the Khandbari-Kimathanka Road spans 158 kilometers.
