The previous government had introduced the current budget through ordinances amidst Maoist protest in November.
To reciprocate, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal committed to bring a supplementary budget afterward. Khanal and Dahal reached the agreement to this effect at a meeting held on Sunday morning.
“We decided to endorse the bills to replace the ordinances on Tuesday and bring a supplementary budget afterward,” Khanal told reporters after the meeting.
The government decided to give continuity to the current budget without making any changes in its programs, in view of time constraints and the possible consequences the country may face if the government fails to endorse the budget by Tuesday.
While assuming his office on Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari informed the ministry will start preparatory works for the supplementary budget immediately after the replacement bills are endorsed by parliament.
Dahal, while addressing a function in Rolpa, said he has promised Khanal to lend the party´s support to endorse the replacement bills on Tuesday.
