KATMANDU, Nov 28: A secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) that was supposed to make work division between party’s central leaders and endorse provincial organizational committees was deferred at the last minute after the taskforce assigned to settle the dispute failed to come up with its report.

The taskforce was led by NCP General Secretary Bishnu Paudel. A few hours before the meeting, Paudel informed the senior leaders that he could not finalize the report due to a technical glitch on his computer.

“My computer is not working today. So, it will be better to sit next time,” a leader quoted General Secretary Paudel as saying.

Leaders, however, did not buy the ‘excuse’ and said taskforce members Paudel and Ram Bahadur Thapa were unable to agree on the responsibilities to be assigned to the central leaders.

NCP has already postponed its several such meetings due to dispute among top leaders over the key responsibilities to be assigned to various members.

The delay in making work division has largely affected the party’s organization.
