KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Keshari Chaudhary, who holds national records in women's high jump, has opted out from the selection event for the South Asian Games.

It has been learnt that Keshari did not take part in the selection as she is planning to go abroad with personal reasons. Keshari, who has spent 10 years in track and field, holds the national record in high jump of 1.69 meter that she set during the 11th South Asian Games held in Bangladesh in 2010.Meanwhile, athletics coach Sushil Narsingh Rana said that Keshari had reached the age of retirement and her absence at the selection games will open door for new talents. "Keshari's absence at the championship makes no difference for Nepali athletics because Nepal has not won any medal in high jump in the present times," said Rana.
