After playing four draws and losing three matches in a row, Keshab finally beat FIDE Master Nasir Marwan of Lebanon in the eighth round. Keshab rated 2118 overcame Nasir rated 2030 in the 53rd move.
Keshab looked on course of draw until 33rd move but gained upper hand after 45th move and finally forced his opponent to give up in the 53rd. Keshav will take on International Master IT Badar of Syria in the ninth round. Grand Master Salim Saleh of the UAE is leads the standings at the end of eighth round with six points.
