KATHMANDU, March 16: NIBL Friends Club interim coach Meghraj KC expressed serious objection to the comment Pradip Humagain, the coach of Three Star Club, made on Friday regarding MMC Vs Friends encounter due to take place on Saturday.

After his side´s 1-0 defeat to New Road Team (NRT) on Friday, Humagain had suspected that Friends would not play up to its full potential against MMC. [break]"The match will most likely be a formality," Humagain had said, adding, "Friends and Police are the strongest teams of the super league and I am eagerly waiting for the Saturday´s match."

"Football is a 90-minute game to be played on the ground. If anyone plays it outside the ground it is better for them to quit playing football," said a furious KC during the post-match conference.

Earlier, KC said he did not believe that a team like Three Star and its coach would make such a "cheap" comment. "Such comments from a club like Three Star reflects the level of Nepali football.

KC, the coach of Himalayan Sherpa, would be in charge of Friends till the super league round of Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League.

KC also lauded his team´s effort against MMC. "Three points were vital for the team and we could have aimed for the second position had we earned it," said KC expressing satisfaction at his team´s performance.

MMC coach Chhiring Lopsang said that he was shocked at the allegation made by Humagain. "Such comments would have negative effect on the players. Why will they put in their efforts if the result is pre-determined," said Lopsang.
