KATHMANDU, Nov 4: The Nepal Kayak Club (NKC) organized the inaugural Marsyangdi Express Extreme Kayak Championship, in Nyagdi village, Lamjung on November 30-31.
Modi Set For Kayaking Competition
A total of 23 kayakers from around the world participated in the event. NKC chose the Marsyangdi not only for its technical difficulty and ferocious flow but also because soon the river will be a torpid stretch of water, tamed by a dam being built upriver.

Based on timing, 12 out of 19 men qualified for the semi finals. In the women's category, three out of four kayakers qualified directly for the finals. The next day saw the 12 semi-finalists in the men's category compete in pairs for a place in the finals.
