KATHMANDU, Sept 4: The three districts in the Kathmandu Valley have reported as many as 454 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP)
Kathmandu district alone witnessed 386 cases while 36 people in Bhaktapur and 32 in Lalitpur were reported positive.
With this, the COVID-19 tally in the Valley has surged to 7,038 ---- 5,622 in Kathmandu, 818 in Lalitpur and 598 in Bhaktapur.
The Valley, which is also the federal capital of the country, reported 445 cases on Thursday, 388 on Wednesday and 481 on Tuesday.
In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Valley, the District Administration Offices (DAOs) of three districts enforced a week-long prohibitory order starting August 19, which was extended twice and will end on September 9.
A recent decision by the Valley district administrations requires anyone entering the Valley to have a negative PCR test report effective from Thursday.
