Kathmandu Metropolitan City: Balen maintains his lead, Sthapit behind by 20,000 votes

KATHMANDU, May 25: Independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah has maintained his lead.

KATHMANDU, May 25: Independent candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah has maintained his lead.


Balendra, who has been maintaining his lead since the initial stage of vote counting, has overtaken Nepali Congress candidate Srijana Singh and CPN-UML's Keshav Sthapit. According to the latest poll results, Balen has received 52,251 votes.

Nepali Congress' Singh has got 32,822 votes while Sthapit has secured 32,807 votes. Both candidates are behind Balen by almost 20,000 votes.
