Citing Section 12 (7) (g) of the Education Act, 2028 BS, Mayor Shah emphasized that teachers in private schools should receive salaries without any reduction as per the salary scale set by the Government of Nepal.
He further highlighted Rule 68 of the KMC School Education Management Regulations, 2074 BS, which explicitly states that the salaries, allowances, pensions, gratuities, and other benefits of teachers and employees should not be reduced, in accordance with federal education laws.
Consequently, Mayor Shah instructed that teachers in private schools, referred to as institutional schools, should be entitled to the same salary benefits as teachers in community schools within the metropolis.
