Kaski bans lake side land sale

KASKI, April 23: The Pokhara Valley Town Development Committee (PVTDC) has imposed a ban on the sale of private and public land around the nine lakes that adorn the valley with the objective of conserving the natural lakes.



The Committee took this step through the District Administration Office after the National Lakes Development Board urged the PVTDC to impose a ban on the sale of land 150 metres around the lakes.[break]



It imposed the ban on the sale of 4,600 ropanis of land around the nine lakes. The imposition of the ban was made through the District Land Revenue Office.



This measure has been taken for conservation of the lakes with the objective of having the lakes enlisted in the list of world heritage sites, engineer at PVTDC Bhuvaneshwar Timilsina said.
