KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Karnali Yaks have become the fourth team to reach the playoff stage of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Kathmandu Gurkhas have been eliminated from the initial stage.
In the last match of the ongoing NPL, if Sudurpaschim Royals had completed the target of 102 runs set by Karnali Yaks within 13 overs, Kathmandu Gurkhas would have reached the playoffs. However, Karnali Yaks have now reached the playoffs after Sudurpaschim Royals could not achieve the target in 13 overs.
NPL: Royals and Bolts to play first qualifier, Rhinos and Yaks...
After Sudurpaschim lost three wickets in 12.2 overs and scored only 72 runs, Karnali reached the playoffs due to their better run rate.
Regardless of the result of this match, Karnali will reach the playoffs. If Karnali defeat Sudurpaschim by 12 runs or more, they will overtake Janakpur Bolts and reach the top two.
