Karnali: The candidates who couldn’t get even 100 votes

Birendranagar, Nov 30: As many as 24 candidates for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly from Karnali Province failed to receive even 100 votes each. Those who got less than 100 votes are both party candidates and independent candidates.

Birendranagar, Nov 30: As many as 24 candidates for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly from Karnali Province failed to receive even 100 votes each. Those who got less than 100 votes are both party candidates and independent candidates.


Three out of the 24 candidates could not get even 10 votes. Among those who could not get even 10 votes is Dev Bahadur Chand, an independent candidate from Surkhet-1 (B). He received only nine votes. Similarly, Man Bahadur Aidi, an independent candidate from Mugu Province Assembly (A), got 8 votes, and Bir Bahadur Rokaya, an independent candidate from Dolpa, got 10 votes. According to the final results announced by the Election Commission, none of the 10 candidates for the House of Representatives and 13 candidates for the Provincial Assembly got 100 votes in Karnali Province.

Candidates from Karnali who could not get 100 votes include Surkhet-1 Provincial Assembly (a) Provincial Assembly candidate Gange Kami of Janta Samajwadi Party (JSP) with 49 votes, Pushparaj Rana of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party with 23 votes and Lal Bahadur Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal with 47 votes. Mankali Ramjali of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party got 63 votes in Surkhet-1 Province Assembly (B).  Prem Kumar Thapa of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, candidate for member of the House of Representatives from Surkhet-1, got 59 votes, Jeevan Chand of Party (RPP) got 32 votes, and Sher Bahadur Ghartimar of Mongol National Organization got 29 votes. Surkhet-1 Provincial Assembly (A) candidate Man Bahadur Gain of RPP Nepal got 77 votes and Purna Bahadur Sunar of Nepal Loktantrik Party got 22 votes.


Similarly, Gagan Kami of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party got 94 votes in Surkhet-1 Provincial Assembly (B). Nationalist People's Party candidate Kumari Rai from Surkhet-2 got 50 votes.


Harak Bahadur Thakulla of CPN-Marxist (Pushpalal), candidate for House of Representatives from Dolpa, got 53 votes, while Bhupal Bahadur Thapal from Nepali Congress of Dailekh got 66 votes for House of Representatives. Nand Bahadur Rokaya of CPN-Marxist (Pushpalal) got 24 votes in Dolpa Province Assembly (A). In Humla Province Assembly (B), JSP’s Baliraj Shahi got 41 votes while RPP Nepal's Suman Rawat got 21 votes. Krishna Bahadur Sejuwal, an independent candidate for the House of Representatives in Mugu got 67 votes, Bhimchandra Hamal, another independent candidate, got 38 votes, and Jagam Bahadur Dhami, an independent candidate in the Mugu Province Assembly (B), got 15 votes. Dhanprasad Pandey, an independent candidate for the House of Representatives in Kalikot, got 82 votes.
