KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Pavitra Kumari Karki and Prithvi Malla secured top positions as the last leg of the Carlsberg Golf Series 2018 concluded in Kathmandu on Saturday. The three-series tournament saw the country’s top amateur golfers participating at the top level.
Karki accumulated 300 points to secure top position in the Nett Section and Prithvi Malla scored 490 points to become the Gross Champion of the series.
Shah, Malla win first ever Carlsberg Golf Series
This tournament was opened to amateur golfers from across the nation having a valid handicap with their home clubs. The tournament was played in a Stableford format with ¾ handicap.
President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire shared his experience on how the golf series has been able to support the sports in Nepal since ling time on the closing program. “It has indeed come a long way since its inception in 1990s giving opportunities for aspiring amateur golfers to step up their game, “ said Ghimire.
Deepak Acharya Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Forest Resort commented “Golf Series is an excellent platform for competitive golf for amateur golfers.”
