The Metropolitan Police Range in Lalitpur arrested Gurung on Tuesday. Police received permission from Lalitpur District Court to keep Gurung for week´s custody. Gurung was arrested earlier on the same charges. But was released following the district court’s order. [break]
SSP Ramesh Bhattarai at the Lalitpur-based Metropolitan Police Range, informed that Gurung was arrested as police received another similar complaint against him.
“We have again arrested him following the Supreme Court and Appellate Court’s orders even though he was previously released as per the District Court order,” Bhattarai added.
Gurung was absconding for the past six months following an order of the Lalitpur-based Appellate Court to arrest him and carry out investigation.
Gurung was running the Saving and Credit for a long time. Recently, he appointed his uncle Mohan Gurung as the general manager of the office.
The stakeholders have filed complaints against Chairman Gurung stating that he misused funds of the Kalyan Saving and Credit.
The shareholders accused the government of not paying attention to their concerns even though they reached at the Ministry of Cooperatives and other government offices demanding to penalize him. Gurung also runs real estate business in Lalitpur.
Various Banks and financial institutions have recommended the Credit Information Bureau demanding blacklisting him.
