KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Former Chief Justice (CJ) Kalyan Shrestha has said that the democracy of Nepal has evolved into a company. He made the comment while speaking at a book release program on Wednesday.
Stating that the democratic parties are always busy fighting for their ‘share’ in the government, Shrestha said that political parties have always worried for their ‘share’ while taking any decision on any topic. He said that the democratic parties are not in favor of the general public but are in favor of their own self interest. “Democracy has evolved into a company. It has not developed in favor of the public or service but into a company. It should have developed in the form of culture and traditions, in the form of a daily habit. Even democracy has been distributed among the political parties,” Shrestha said.
