KATHMANDU, Aug 23: Nepal players Kajal Shrestha and Asmita Khadka claimed gold medals in the Chief Minister International Taekwondo Championship held in Kuching of Malaysia.
Kajal overcame Indonesia's Ratu Natasyal 14-12 in senior women's U- 46 kg final of the two-day event that concluded on Sunday. Earlier in one-sided semifinal she edged past Brunai's Bentee Mohammad Jean 18-1, according to coach Kumar Lama Ghising.

Similarly, Asmita edged past Thai player 15-5 in the senior women's U-49 kg final. She had a cake walk in the semifinal humiliation Hong Kong player 13-1. Meanwhile, Subodh Khadka won silver in junior men's U-63 kg. He was defeated by Thai player in the final after earning win over Malaysian and Pilipino player in the quarter and semifinal.
Bikesh Bidari crashed out from the semifinal of senior men's above 63 kg section. The pair of Asmita and Subodh secured bronze in pair pumse earning 6.43 points out of total 10 point. Asmita also bagged the best player award under senior women's section. Nepal's judge Norbu Lama was also named in one of the best three judges out of 25 judges.
