Prime Minister Nepal called on this community while extending wishes to all Jyapus at a main function organized on Wednesday by Jyapu Culture Development Trust in coordination with Swetkali Conservation Committee on the occasion of sixth Jyapu day.

The cabinet meeting Tuesday decided to provide assistance worth Rs. 600,000 to the Trust for the preservation of Jyapu indigenous bands, Prime Minister informed on the occasion.

Pointing out the need of intensive discussion in within parties regarding the issues of strictures and bases of federalism, geography and others, PM further said federalism would not weaken the country.

Hinting at Maoist´s opting for declaring federal states, he said he was surprised by this move. "It is the act against the interim constitution".

The PM also asked all political parties to make the Constituent Assembly (CA) as a meaningful place to undertake state restructuring process.

Minister for Constituent Assembly, Federal Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Dr. Minendra Rijal said Jyapus have observed their day to expose their own identity at a time when Nepali people belonging to various communities are searching for their cultures and costumes.

Various people, including Rameswor Maharjan, Rajednra Maharjan, Chhori Maharjan and Bibek Maharjan were felicitated with Jyapu Talent Awards for their contribution in different sectors.

Likewise, Jyapu scholar Badri Ratna Bajracharya and Mangal Krishna Singh were also provided with letter of appreciation as recognition of their contribution.
