PM Oli’s railway rhetoric is nothing but a debt trap
Pradip Giri, Nepali Congress lawmaker mocked Prime Minister’s high-sounding yet fanciful rhetoric of building waterways and railways in the country ‘a day dream’. Giri claimed that KP Sharma Oli wouldn’t be able to materialize his words into action, and that the dream would “push the country into a perpetual debt trap if it were to be constructed.”
Accused gold smuggler surrenders, court records statement
Chhiring Wangel Ghale alias David Da, one of the main accused in the 33.5 kilograms gold scam surrendered himself at the Morang district court today. The court has started to record his statement. So far, 63 suspects have been charged and arrested for gold smuggling. Thirty accused of involvement in the smuggling still are at large.

314 citizenships distributed through mobile camp
The District Administration Office of Myagdi distributed 314 citizenships from an Integrated Mobile Camp at Darbang of Malika rural municipality on Saturday. The two-day mobile camp was run at Malika and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities.
China Warns US: No Trade Deal if Tariffs Go Ahead
China has warned that any agreements with Washington in their talks on settling a sprawling trade dispute “will not take effect” if threatened U.S. sanctions including tariff hikes go ahead. The statement came shortly after delegations led by U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and China’s top economic official, Vice Premier Liu He, held another round of talks on China’s pledge to narrow its trade surplus with the United States by purchasing more American goods.
BCosta, Augusto to miss match against Croatia
Renato Augusto and Douglas Costa will miss Brazil’s World Cup warm-up friendly against Croatia in England due to injury. Costa will travel with the squad to Liverpool but will not play in the match due to a thigh strain. Augusto will stay in London to have physiotherapy on an injured left knee.
