UNESCO announces its withdrawal from restoration of Jagannath, Gopinath temples


The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on Tuesday announced its withdrawal from the restoration works of Jagannath and Gopinath temples at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square in the capital.


PM Oli receives national identity card


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has received a national identity card on Tuesday. Similarly, the wife of PM Oli, Radhika Shakya also received the national identity card. Meanwhile, the department has said that it will hand over the biometric ID card to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.

House meeting deferred for Wednesday following protest of lawmakers


The meeting of the House of Representatives has been deferred for Wednesday following the obstruction of Nepali Congress and Rashtriya Janata Party-Nepal lawmakers today afternoon. In a notice, Parliament Secretariat stated that the meeting has been postponed due to a special reason. 


Locals vandalize snakebite treatment center in Sarlahi after toddler dies


Local residents vandalized a snakebite treatment centre at Nawalpur in Sarlahi district after a toddler died in course of treatment. Relatives and local people have accused the doctors of sheer negligence during the treatment of Sampada Budhathoki of Hariwan municipality-9 who was rushed to the centre following snakebite on Monday evening.


Nepal clinch ACC Eastern Region Cricket Championship-2019


Nepal has clinched the ACC Eastern Region Cricket Championship-2019, defeating Hong Kong by six wickets in the final match held at Kinrara cricket ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today.  With this victory, Nepal has also entered the U-19 Asia Cup taking place in Sri Lanka from August 28.


Trump will ‘no longer deal’ with UK envoy who panned him


President Donald Trump threatened Monday to cut off contact with Britain’s ambassador to the United States after leaked diplomatic cables revealed the envoy called the Trump administration “dysfunctional” and “inept.” “I do not know the Ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the US. We will no longer deal with him,” Trump wrote.
