Parliamentary hearing of CJ to conclude on Monday


The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee will meet on Monday to decide whether to endorse the recommendation made by the Constitutional Council to appoint Dipak Raj Joshi as the new Chief Justice. 


Parliamentarians demand strong action against rape culprits


Parliamentarians have demanded the government step up its efforts to arrest the culprit(s) invovled in the rape and murder of 13 year Nirmala Panta of Bhimdutta municipality-2 in the federal parliamentarian meeting today. Panta’s body was found four days ago in a sugarcane farm. Four days later, the culprits are yet to be arrested.

Investment doubles in Nepal in 2017-18 fiscal


Industrial investment more than doubled in Nepal in the last fiscal year 2017-18 that concluded in mid-July, the Department of Industry (DoI) said on Saturday.Investors registered 496 industries at the DoI with the committed investment of 350.58 billion Nepali rupees (3.18 billion U.S. dollars) in the last fiscal, DoI data showed.


Palestinian teenager jailed for slapping soldiers leaves prison



Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi left prison Sunday after an eight-month sentence for slapping two Israeli soldiers, an episode captured on video that made her a symbol of resistance for Palestinians, a prison service spokesman said.


MCC announces partnership to support cricket in Nepal


MCC has announced its intention to introduce into its overseas touring programme a series of Legacy Tours, aimed at leaving a sustainable and meaningful impact in developing cricket nations. The first country that MCC will visit as part of the new initiative is Nepal.
