BIRATNAGAR, April 17: Rajan Mukti-led Jantrantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-R) has threatened to pull out of peace talks with the government and return to violence.

In a press conference held here, the group’s chief negotiator with the government, Rajib Jha (Utkarsha Mukti), said JTMM-R, which has already held one round of talks with the government, would resume its war.

“Because of the attitude of the government, we see no option other than returning to war,” said Jha. “At any now we can return to war.”

He accused the government of not being sincere about talks with the armed Madhesi groups and failing to implement the six-point agreement signed with it. “The government has breached its commitments and continued arresting our cadres,” he said. He claimed that his group has consolidated its strength during the peace talks and readied a 21,000-strong force.

Meanwhile, Morang District Court has released two cadres of the group -- Harishchandra Jha and Dinesh Sah. Jha is the group´s Morang district chief and Biratnagar city in-charge.
