JSP's Ramsahay Prasad Yadav registers his candidacy from ruling alliance

KATHMANDU, March 11: Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, the Parliamentary Party (PP) leader of Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal, has filed his candidacy for the post of Vice President.

Yadav reached the parliament building on Saturday and filed his candidacy for the post of vice president on behalf of the ruling alliance. In addition to JSP leaders, Chief Whip Prakash Jwala from CPN (Unified Socialist Party) also participated during the registration of nomination.

The Election Commission (EC) has given the nomination registration time for the Vice President today. Nominations should be registered by 2 pm today. JSP leaders Ashok Kumar Rai, Pradeep Yadav, Kishan Shrestha, Shakti Basnet, Ramesh Jung Rayamaji are among the proponents while Rekha Yadav, Ambika Kafle, Prakash Jwala, Khimlal Devkota, Bhanubhakta Joshi are among the supporters.

Speaking to the media after registering his candidacy, Yadav expressed his commitment to safeguard the constitution of the country and take initiatives for national unity if he is elected to the post. He said, "If elected, I will take the initiative to protect and promote national unity of the country's constitution."

Ashta Lakshmi Shakya, the party's Vice Chairperson of CPN-UML, has fielded her nomination for the vice-presidential position. Her proponents are Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Vice-Chairman Subas Chandra Nemwang, Chabi Lal Bishwakarma, Gokarna Bista, Raghubir Mahaseth, while his supporters are Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Mahesh Bertaula, Tulsa Dahal, Bhagwati Neupane, Yashoda Rijal.
