BIRGUNJ, July 15: Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav has said that Dr Baburam Bhattarai has separated himself from the party by consensus. Speaking at a press conference in Birgunj on Friday, Chairman Yadav said that the gate was not locked for him.
"If he reconsiders his decision, he is still welcome," he said. If you want to get into mainstream politics, we have not locked the gate for that, he added.
Prior to this, a meeting of the JSP held in Birgunj on Thursday removed Baburam Bhattarai and nine others from the responsibility of the party. Announcing the decisions of the meeting, Chairman Upendra Yad said that the continuation of the alliance is necessary to advance the country toward political stability while protecting democracy.
Despite some bitter experiences in the local elections, the alliance is still needed for the country, Yadav said.
