Journalist Baral elected Raskot mayor

KALIKOT, May 22: Former journalist Kashi Chandra Baral has been elected as the mayor of Raskot Municipality.

KALIKOT, May 22: Former journalist Kashi Chandra Baral has been elected as the mayor of Raskot Municipality.


Baral had been a journalist of Kantipur National Daily and Kadam Saptahik, a local weekly.


Many people still recall Baral discharging his duties with a pen and camera during his 10-year-long journalism stint.

Founder member of Revolutionary Journalists Association, Baral had gone underground for two years during the Maoist insurgency.


 CPN (Maoist Center) provided him a ticket to Baral for the post of myoral elections for his contribution to the party.


Baral, 46, was born at Bagarkot in Raskot Muncipality-8.
