Over 450 MBBS students of JMC have been left in the lurch after the college halted classes 15 months ago. Teaching hospital of JMC has remained shut for the last eight months.

"We have not been able to continue our studies for the last eight months but the authorities have turned a blind eye to our plight," said Ansu Piya, an MBBS student of JMC.

"The Institute of Medicine has said that it will not recognize our degree even if the college resumes classes," she complained. The arrested medical students were released on Wednesday evening.
