SC directs JMC to admit students absent in entrance exam

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Janaki Medical College (JMC) to admit even those students who were absent in the entrance examinations for the BDS course.

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Janaki Medical College (JMC) to admit even those students who were absent in the entrance examinations for the BDS course.


A division bench of justices Hari Krishna Karki and Bam Kumar Shrestha directed the college to admit those students who missed the entrance exam.

The bench, in response to a writ petition filed by students including Riya Sah, directed the college to respect their right to education.


The petitioners had filed the case against the college and the Tribhuvan University. The petitioners made several futile attempts in lower courts before finally the apex court directed the college to respect the rights of the students.
