Jeep that plunged into Sunkoshi river retrieved, three persons missing

SINDHULI, Aug 25: The jeep that fell into the Sunkoshi river was retrieved from Kundule, Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 of Sindhuli district.

The jeep with three passengers including the driver onboard fell into the Sunkoshi River on Saturday evening. The diving team, which immediately began searching for the missing after the accident, found the jeep only at around 2 AM today. However, the three passengers, who were in the jeep are still missing. Police have stated that the search for them is still ongoing.

An Isuzu vehicle Pra 3-01-023 Cha 6366, which was coming from Halesi in Khotang towards Kathmandu, fell into the Sunkoshi River from Kundule in Golanjor Rural Municipality-1, Sindhuli, at around 5:30 PM on Saturday. The Hilux pickup van plunged into the river after driver lost its control at Kudule of Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli district on its way to Bhaktapur from Khotang. 

SP Govindaraj Kafle of District Police Office, Sindhuli said that Pranit Syagu, Balaram Ghatuwa and Abin Bade of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur went missing after the vehicle plunged into the river.

Four persons were onboard the vehicle. 

One of the persons onboard the vehicle, Sushant Kashapati, who sustained injuries in the accident, is receiving treatment at a hospital in Khurkot, Sindhuli.
