A JC meeting on Friday recommended the names to the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee. [break]
Those recommended are Baidyanath Upadhyay, Tarka Raj Bhatta, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Bharat Bahadur Karki and Kamal Narayan Das.
Updhyay, Bhatta and Karki have been serving as the chief judges of Patan, Butwal and Pokhara appellate courts respectively. Similarly, Bharat Bahadur Karki is the incumbent attorney general while Das has long been in the judicial service as a lawyer.
Those recommended will assume their offices after the Parliamentary Hearing Committee approves their names.
The committee will hold a hearing and will also issue a public notice asking people to voice their concerns, if any, against those recommended for the post.
