Japanese woman in Nepal on her world tour

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: A Japanese woman, Momoko Phukuhara, 25, who is on world tour advocating women´s rights, has arrived in Nepal.



Phukuhara, who started the world tour with the slogan ´Let´s search for happiness of the women of the world´ arrived in Kathmandu two weeks ago.



She acquired information about Nepali women taking shelter at the Shakti Samuha, an NGO, working as a volunteer for two days. [break]



Similarly, Phukuhara went to different orphanages including Nawa Yuba Balsudhar Samaj in Bhaktapur and acquired information about the orphaned and helpless children who have lost their parents during conflict period.



She said she experienced that Nepali women receive much respect from families and society but they are very weak emotionally.



She started the world tour on May 15 from the Philippines. She has visited Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and India in course of her world tour.
