KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Shunsuke Takei, is coming to Nepal to observe the election to the members of House of Representatives and provincial assemblies scheduled for November 20.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Nepal, Takei is coming to Nepal on November 20 to observe the elections. Earlier in the general election of 2074 in Nepal, the Japanese government had sent an election observation team under the leadership of former Deputy Foreign Minister Hori Iwao.

Minister Takei is the highest official to be sent from Japan as an election observer to Nepal. "As a democratic governance system is indispensable for the further development and prosperity of Nepal, Japan has emphasized the need for the upcoming elections to be conducted in a fair, transparent and peaceful manner," said a statement issued by the embassy.

During his two-day stay in Nepal, he is scheduled to have courtesy meetings with high-ranking officials of Nepal.
