KATHMANDU, Aug 19: Janamat Party is conducting a voting today for the evaluation of provincial assembly members. Janamat Party Secretary BP Shah stated that approval and work performance evaluation is being carried out through voting in the constituencies of 16 provincial assembly members elected from the Janamat Party.

According to him, the voting has started from 10AM today across all constituencies, including both direct and proportional representatives. Party leaders and members are participating in the evaluation process to determine whether the Janamat Party's provincial assembly members have effectively fulfilled their responsibilities.

For the first time, Janamat Party, which has the provision of 'Right to Recall', is conducting an approval evaluation  to judge whether its representatives have aligned with the people's expectations. "Electoral officers have been posted in all the sixteen constituencies. Voting has been arranged till 5PM,” said Secretary Shah.

He said that the process of 'right to recall' will be started against those who get less than fifty percent of votes. “Today's voting is a process of right to recall. Action will be taken against MPs who fail in this."

Secretary Shah said, “While this provision will not be enacted immediately as this is being exercised for the first year, the outcome of this vote holds significant importance."

Earlier, the Janamat Party also conducted evaluations for the approval of its elected local people's representatives. The party said that 21 representatives passed and one failed to meet the criteria.
