JAJARKOT, Nov 18: Bheri Gyanodaya Campus, the only campus in the district, got its chief after seeing the post vacant for 18 months.

The post had remained vacant with the passing away of Gopal Bahadur Rokaya, former chief of the campus, one-and-a-half years ago. Following his death, political parties could not agree on a new chief. [break]

With the post of campus chief remaining vacant for so long, Balram Bhandari was made its assistant chief.

Teachers and students had been exerting pressure for filling the vacant post saying the campus was facing problems in running the campus administration as well as running classes.

On November 11, a meeting of the management committee of the campus amended campus regulations and appointed Mohan Bikram Shah, former chief of the campus, as the new chief. Shah was chief of the campus 13 years ago.

The campus was established in 1986, and Shah was among its founders. Shah has been working as assistant professor at Mahendra Sanskrit University in Dang for the past 13 years.

Bikash Adhikari, management committee chairman of the campus, said all parties have agreed on Shah´s appointment.
