The winner will receive USD 600 whereas the first and second runner-ups will get USD 400 and 200, respectively.Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Thursday, Gham Bahadur Thapa Magar, president of the committee, informed that only national players (57-63 kg) holding black belt in the sparring category are eligible to participate in the tournament.
He also informed that altogether 21 players from departmental teams as well as from all five development regions will take part in the tournament and selection rounds are being conducted in respective regions.
The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 800,000, according to the organizer.
Meanwhile, committee has signed an agreement with Royal Himchuli International Pvt Ltd, which will provide Rs 100,000 as the tournament's sponsor.
Committee president Magar and Royal Himchuli's Kiran Ghayal signed the agreement.
A 40-member organizing committee has been formed under the leadership of Magar.
