KATHMANDU, OCT 13: Israel has made public the list of 1,175 Nepalese shortlisted for employment in the country.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), the Israel government has selected the aforementioned number of Nepali job seekers from among the details of 1,600 aspirants submitted by the Nepali side. The list of workers approved by the Israel authorities includes 821 women and 354 men.

Last January, an 'Implementation Protocol' was signed between Nepal and Israel for the implementation of 'Agreement related to temporary employment of Nepali workers in the labor market of Israel'. As per the agreement, Nepali youths will be permitted for employment as caregivers as well as in hospitals, nursing homes and daycare centers.
Israel is one of the lucrative employment destinations for the foreign job seekers. The Middle Eastern country on the Mediterranean Sea offers most of the jobs related to caregivers. There are around 2,500 Nepalis in Israel, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv, Israel.
